At HEART (Helensburgh Events and Reinvestment Trust), our mission is clear: to drive community spirit and reinvest in causes that make a difference in the lives of Helensburgh residents. This past week, we had the privilege of fulfilling this mission by awarding a £1,000 grant to the Helensburgh and District Branch of Enable, a community club dedicated to enhancing the lives of adults with learning disabilities.
A Local Club with a Big Heart
Enable is more than just a club; it’s a lifeline for its members and their families. They provide two sessions a week filled with activities like crafts, music, and games, Enable creates a safe space for connection and joy. These sessions reduce social isolation and offer valuable support for families and carers. It’s a community hub where friendships flourish, and creativity thrives.
Bringing Dreams to Life
The grant from HEART will empower Enable to expand its activities and forge deeper ties with local businesses. Plans include craft workshops with Pitter Patter Potter, healthy eating sessions with Nature’s Harvest, and other experiences courtesy of Helensburgh Flowers and Beauty Within. Additionally, the funds will help Enable members enjoy the rich cultural and social events Helensburgh has to offer, such as visits to Hill House and Geilston Gardens, outings to local eateries, and much-anticipated trips to the Tower Cinema when it reopens.
This support will make a tangible difference, providing vulnerable members of our community with opportunities to experience the very best of our town while encouraging collaboration with small businesses.
Celebrating the Moment
On December 3rd, our team visited Enable to officially announce the funding to Enable’s members. We are delighted to witness the joy and excitement of the members.
Thanks to You, Helensburgh
This grant wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our community. By attending HEART events throughout the year, you’ve helped us generate the funds necessary to support vital initiatives like Enable.
We’d love for you to join us at our upcoming Burns Supper and Ceilidh on January 11th at the Civic Centre. It’s another opportunity to come together, celebrate our heritage, and ensure that HEART can continue its work in 2025. Get your tickets here.
